Cherice is a 27 year old Chef and CEO of vegan catering company To Divinity and Beyond in Phoenix Arizona. She is a fellow health enthusiast, advocate for veganism, singer, model and has taken up a passion in tarot card reading as well. I’ve known of Cherice since high school when she played basketball with my younger brother. That’s right she’s an athlete too! There is something so dope about a well-rounded girl boss. She is pulling out all the moves on me.
What I enjoyed the most about my date with Cherice is her energy. Literally her responses were as if the universe was literally speaking through her body, and that energy was powerful as hell to me. Also, hearing about her love for singing while shopping in the grocery stores was great. I told her I’m here for the You Tube grocery singing channel because….listen to that voice yall! (Sorry Cherice I had to!)
So, here’s what Cherice had to say to Charlotte…
What does women empowerment mean to you?
Were superheroes. I just see silohettes of women with capes. I just get so much hope from the words women empowerment and I am literally watching our power unfold all around me.
Women empowerment is influencing everyone and its really going to change the world. It is the time for the divine feminine and we are witnessing us taking our power back.
If I didn’t have …I would go insane.
Music. Its part of my creative process with cooking….it helps me get in my zone.
Cherice’s morning routine
I steep my tea, do a yoga session and stretch. When I don’t it really throws me off…then I do a tarot pull for myself or anyone else that asks for it. I started incorporating the gym into our routine as well.
I don’t generally eat breakfast. I’ll have 2 cups of tea, and drink about 2 liters of water before I eat lunch. (detoxing/fasting)

If you had to leave this earth tomorrow what would you absolutely have to do?
I would love to go to some tropical paradise. Somewhere in nature that is breath taking, beautiful and spontaneous.
What do you love most about yourself?
I love that I still have a child like passion for life. I get so excited about my passion and I can talk forever about it. My inner child really comes out and I love that about myself. I’ve had people tell me to calm it down….
If you don’t get excited about what you are doing then why are you doing it?
What is a day of self-care for Cherice?
Pedicure. Reiki massage and I would go to Sedona and walk barefoot in the forest. I say a foot rub and a pedicure because I am on my feet all day grocery shopping and cooking.
What are the challenges you’ve encountered being a woman in business and what advice would you give?
Story time!
As a woman trying to build her business, a model, and an artist, I have run into so many situations with people that try to change who you are. They see the potential in you but they also see their vision of the potential in you and they really try to change you. If you don’t know yourself as a woman it can be really hard to walk in your purpose when you don’t know exactly what that is. You can be influenced by outside voices…
Cherice then went on to tell me about an experience she had with a job interview. Although she got the job, the man brought her back in later and told her the only reason that he hired her was because of her looks.
When that happened, I was thrown back. If I am going to be taken seriously, I have to step up and be better. It changed my whole perspective on how I handle things. Its hard to be taken seriously as far as your skill set over your looks. Stick to your guns and don’t worry about coming off as a diva or a bitch but maintain that professionalism.
Tell me about something crazy that you’ve done?
I shaved my head. Deep down I really wanted to start over….
After a nice hairstyle gone wrong Cherice contacted her hairstylist and told her that she wanted to shave it all off. She had it dyed blonde for 7 years and felt that she needed a fresh start.
Cherice Catered the 3rd Annual Womben’s Day Brunch looking amazing with her laux
It is truly empowering when you shave your head as a woman. We have an unhealthy attachment to our femininity as a woman when it comes to our hair. It sometimes affects our self-love. When I shaved my head, it was so empowering and a huge shift in consciousness. You don’t hide behind anything anymore…it is just YOU.
What do you say to someone who wants to quit?
Don’t. Right when I feel like I want to give up….that’s when the breakthrough happens. That’s why I love meditation. I had a problem with negative thinking. If you can learn to harness those thoughts it helps you manifest what you truly desire.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Trust yourself more. Intuition is real.
What does LOVE mean to you?
This was my favorite part of the interview!
Cherice immediately paused….she explained how she could immediately feel the answer but she couldn’t quite get it out. Then words just kind of started flowing through her. She said “Accepting” “Understanding” and “In the moment” …that’s what love means to me.
She was translating her feelings through her body and the energy was beautiful. Cherice you are beautiful. Go visit her blog and be inspired. She has some incredible healthy recipes with no meat so you know I am all over it but it doesn’t matter if you eat meat or not. The shit is delicious.
